Dominic, founder of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans), died 1221
Dominic was a Spanish priest who saw the wealth of the clergy as a stumbling block for the church, so he formed a movement, the Order of Preachers (commonly called Dominicans) devoted to itinerant preaching and living in poverty.

You are invited to Gloria Dei for any of our worship times or activities. Choirs hold rehearsal every Wednesday, new singers are always welcome. For young families a cry room is available in the lounge out the back of the sanctuary.
CHOIR PRACTICE BEGINS IN AUGUST
Summer Family Choir ends this Sunday, August 1st. Weekly choir rehearsals will resume on Wednesday, August 25. Senior Choir, High School Choir (grades 9-12) and Youth Choir (grades 4-8) rehearse at the following days and times each week: Senior Choir: 7:30-8:30pm on Wednesday evenings; High School Choir: 9:00 am on Sunday mornings; Youth Choir: 6:30-7:10 pm on Wednesday evenings.
FAMILY SWIMMING PARTY IN WASHINGTON, IA
Sunday, August 21st. Lunch at 11 am in the Sunset Park and then swimming at 1pm at the Washington Aquatic Center. Please bring a drink, a dessert to share, and $3 for pizza!
